The red wine Italians actually drink at the table

Some wines are made to impress. Big oak. Big bottles. Big speeches. Trebbiolo is not that.

This is the kind of red you open on a Tuesday night. With pasta. With friends. With nothing fancy.
And somehow the bottle is empty before you notice. Made by La Stoppa in the hills of Emilia Romagna, Trebbiolo is the everyday wine of the Trebbia Valley.
Not a single grape. A local, old school blend.
60% Barbera brings freshness and crunch.
40% Bonarda adds darker fruit and a little rustic spice.
The farming is organic. Fermentation happens with native yeasts. About twenty days on skins in steel and cement. No oak. No makeup. Nothing to hide.
What you taste is simple and honest.
Morello cherry. Red berries. A savory earthy edge. Bright acidity that makes food taste better. It’s lively. A little wild. Extremely drinkable. The kind of red you can even serve slightly cool.
This is how Italians really drink wine. Not for collecting. Not for showing off. Just for eating well and staying at the table longer.
We pour it by the glass at Gụ.
Come by. Grab a table. Try it with food.
